22 year old Imam and Quran Reciter Stabbed to Death in London

 

Mehdi Aqil, a 22-year-old young and enthusiastic Imam and hafidh e Quran (Quran Reciter) was stabbed to death on Saturday in East London. The Imam was killed by a Knife in a hate crime and a clear case of Islamophobia. The news went viral when Aqil's Islamic teacher posted the news of his murder in a Facebook post. The crime took place on Saturday on Navigation Road, Tower Hamlets.

The young Imam also led the prayers of Tawaeeh during Ramadan 2021 in London. The post in which his teacher told how he struggled during his teenage and how he was chosen by Allah to be a good Muslim. The post of his teacher Ishaaq Abu Rahmiyyah Jasat says " It is with a heavy heart that I inform you about the passing of my dear student, Hafidh Mohammed Aqil Mehdi. He was stabbed to death at the young age of 22 in East London early on Saturday morning. He was my beloved student whom I taught for more than 10 years. Words are not enough to describe my pain of mine on his death. He tried so hard in his Quranic journey. His mother is also an experienced Quran teacher and did so effort to make Mehdi a Hafidh e Quran.

While according to the Police the motive of the crime is still not clear and no arrest has been made so far.

We should pray for his departed soul and ask Allah to forgive him and accept his Tilwat E Quran (Recitation of Quran) his good deeds. May Allah grant him the highest rank in Jannah and give patience to his family and friends.
