Gaza Under Attack: More than 30 Children Killed after airstrike hit school

Israeli Strikes on Gaza Schools Kill Dozens, Including Children

Gaza City has been the scene of devastating attacks as Israeli forces targeted schools sheltering displaced Palestinians, resulting in the deaths of at least 33 people, including 18 children. The assaults, which occurred on Thursday, struck three schools in the Tuffah neighborhood, each serving as a refuge for families who have lost their homes in the ongoing conflict.

The Dar al-Arqam School suffered the most severe casualties, hit by at least four missiles, according to Civil Defence officials. The Gaza Government Media Office reported 29 fatalities at this location alone, with over 100 people injured. Al Jazeera sources also confirmed at least four deaths at the Fahd School, also sheltering civilians. Reports indicate that the Shaaban Alrayyes School was also hit, though immediate casualty figures were unavailable.

The Israeli military stated that the strikes targeted a Hamas command center operating within Gaza City, allegedly used to plan attacks against Israeli civilians and soldiers. However, it remains unclear if this statement directly refers to the attacks on the schools.

Al Jazeera's Hani Mahmoud, reporting from Gaza City, described the scene at Dar al-Arqam School as "horrific," with footage too graphic to broadcast. He highlighted the vulnerability of displaced civilians, emphasizing that Israeli-designated "safe zones" offer no genuine protection.

Gaza emergency rescue workers have urgently called upon the international community to intervene, demanding an immediate halt to the Israeli military's actions. "Children are being killed with cold blood here in Gaza," a spokesperson stated.

Medical sources reported that at least 112 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks across Gaza since Thursday morning. Al-Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza City received 21 bodies, including seven children. In Khan Younis, Nasser Hospital received 14 bodies, nine from a single family, including five children and four women.

The attacks have once again raised serious concerns about the safety of civilians in Gaza and the devastating consequences of the ongoing conflict.
