This Pakistani artist Atif Aslam is the only most popular and famous artist/singer of Pakistan. You can say in recent times he is the topmost artist in Pakistan, loved by millions all over the world. Especially the artist has millions of young fans from his neighboring country India. The singer from the past two or three months continuously posting Islamic songs, naats, hamds in the praise of Allah, and his messenger Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He started this Islamic singing during the lockdown period when he posted on his official social media handles 'Tajdar E Haram' in the praise of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), then he came with soothing Adhan in his voice, after that Coke Studio Pakistan released his track "99 names of Allah". Fans got overwhelmed with this gesture. By liking his music songs in films and movies, the love Atif Aslam got by singing Islamic folk songs was amazing. Then fans out of love for his devotional singing spread the rumor that 'Atif Aslam will quit Film Industry, and will only sing Islamic songs.
But in a recent interview, the singer ends this rumor on Geo TV, he said that The amount of love and respect I got after singing devotional Islamic songs is much appreciated, as the Muslim youth is liking my music in an Islamic manner, but for now, I can't say that I'm leaving the music industry totally. Yes, I will encourage myself to sing more and more Islamic songs in the praise of Allah and his messenger Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
The World Famous singer added:
“The topic of leaving the film or music industry is one quite personal. But I want to keep myself attached to my religion while still being part of the world. I won’t say I will be giving up on music entirely and will not sing any song in the future for the music industry, but I want to highlight important aspects of religion like the 99 names of Allah and Tajdar-e-Haram.”
When Geo TV ask Atif about his Azaan which won millions of hearts during the lockdown period,
Atif replied, Atif said he had a longstanding wish of reciting the Azaan at the Holy Kaaba in Mecca, which is where the idea stems from.
Atif Aslam also has sung various tracks in the praise of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his son-in-law and cousin Hazrat Ali ibn Talib (R.A). He also loves to start his concerts with the praise of Sufi personalities like - Shahbaz Qalandar from (Sehwan) although he (Shahbaz Qalandar) is most popular among the Punjabi Muslims of Pakistan while one of the biggest Sufi saints in Pakistan is nonother than the heart of the Chisti silsila originated from Herat in Afghanistan is Hazrat Baba fariduddin GanjShakar (R.A), his shrine is located in Pakpattan in Pakistan, he was also a Punjabi Muslim Scholar and a Sufi Saint of the medieval period and he is also one of the first Punjabi Poet Of the World, famous for his miracles (turning Sugar into Salt) and the student of the disciple of Hazrat Moinuddin Chisti (R.A) resting in Ajmer.
