PRIOR to the United States Air force, United States army declared legal to wear Hijab during duty for female officers and also with regards to the Hijabs for Muslim females, beard was also allowed for male officers in the US Army, in accordance to the US Army, the US Air force also now officially declared that they will be soon updating their Policies for allowing Muslims working in the Air Force to wear Hijabs and males can work with beards on. Along with Hijabs and Beard, the new policy updates will bring Turbans as a dress code for Punjabi's and Sikh's working in the US Air force.
The US Air Force indeed took a huge step towards equality and promoting the brotherhood among two specific communities of different faiths within the unit of Air Force e.g - Muslims and Sikhs. Now if you are a Muslim or a Sikh you are free to wear clothes of your own choice and also wear those clothes also which are strictly bound to be worn by your religious guidelines.
Under this new policy update by the US Air Force, which has just been finalized recently, Muslims and Sikhs now can wear Turbans, Hijabs, can have beards on and unshorn hair is also allowed if your Physical appearance with these things looks neat and clean.
The Muslims and the Sikhs welcomed this news and step of US Air Force wholeheartedly, further the Unit of Air Force said THE Military needs to go even further and secular in its nature so many more sharp minds from different communities could serve the Army better, people normally in the US try to avoid working in the US Army or Air Force, as their religious sentiments may get hurt, but now we are working on it to allow everyone equal right to wear and appear in whatever ways they wish.
In the US Army and Air Force, a huge amount of Sikhs and Muslim population works, so it was a necessary step for the US which they implemented after realizing its need and impact.
