Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia says Eid Prayer will be held at Homes amid Coronavirus

Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia says Eid Prayer will be performed at Homes if Coronavirus remains till the end of Ramadan. The Official page of Haramain Sharifain on one hour ago posted the news on their Facebook page. Amid the pandemic, the holy month of Ramadan is approaching and exactly next week it seems to be declared based on the sighting of the moon for the month, dates may vary in different countires based on the moon sighting.

A week ago, the official president of the Two Holy Mosques, at Makkah and Madina, issued guidelines for the upcoming holy month of Ramadan and it was decided that no Taraweeh gathering will be held in entire Saudi Arabia including masjid al-Haram and Nabawi, but one can offer prayers (Taraweeh) at homes undoubtedly.

Now, most of the Muslims around the world will observe fasts during the month of fasting and performs night prayers (special Taraweeh) at night inside their homes and no Eid prayer will be held at homes if the situation of the pandemic does not come to an end before Eid, or during Ramadan.

The Grand mufti says the Eid prayer will be held at home followed by a general sermon, maybe broadcasted on Television or any other platform.

The Coronavirus has affected more than 2 million people now around the world and the united states of America are worst hit by the pandemic virus disease, more than 30,000 deaths in the USA.

Curfew has been imposed in Saudi Arabia last month, while commercial and cargo traffic is still allowed, and the passage of exceptional humanitarian cases.

Another question is that amid coronavirus, the authority suspended Umrah pilgrimage, now whether the hajj will be held this year or not is still a big reason.

Let us pray together, may this COVID-19 come to an end before the starting of the month of Ramadan, those who have lost their lives and loved ones may Allah grant them Jannah and patience to their families.
